I’ve been a professional musician, actor, writer and composer for over 35 years, a student of the Alexander Technique
since the early 1980’s, and a qualified teacher of the Technique since 1991. I’ve written and performed music for radio, television and theatre in England and North America; acted in Fringe, West End, and Repertory Theatres, as well as the National Theatre Studio and The Royal Shakespeare Company; I wrote An Examined Life: Marjory Barlow and the Alexander Technique, published in 2002.
 
My recent work includes :
  1. I composed and performed original music for The Trial and Death of Socrates for BBC Radio 3, and also played the part of Kastor.
  2. I played Abu Ibrahim in The Vikings and and Marconi in Whispers in the Air produced by Battery Radio for CBC Radio.
  3. I performed in Women Beware Women for the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford upon Avon
  4. I directed five chamber operas and A Soldier’s Tale for Roehampton University
 
My home is in Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire, the flat in the oldest timber framed residence in England (c.1270).
I visit Newfoundland, Canada several times each year to teach the Alexander Technique.
